History

The REsilience and SUstainability in MEtropolitan TECH (RESUME TECH) research group was established to address the needs in urban sustainability and resilience. Supported by domestic and international university professors, the group was formed with the approval of the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology, and the Council for the Development of Higher Education under number 10364.

Mission & Vision

Mission: To provide knowledge-based solutions that enhance the quality of urban life through the principles of sustainability and resilience. The group aims to improve living conditions by focusing on the four main perspectives of sustainability: economic, social, environmental, and organizational structure, from the design stage to the end-of-life phases of the built environment.

Vision: Utilizing scientific and executive research to propose solutions that reduce economic and environmental costs while increasing social satisfaction for all stakeholders involved in the lifecycle of the built environment. The group leverages new technologies and global knowledge to achieve goals such as:

  • Conducting and developing research on sustainability and resilience in the built environment.
  • Enhancing the quality of education and research activities in this field.
Activity Area

  • Identifying research needs in sustainability and resilience.
  • Conducting research projects to improve community preparedness and reduce costs associated with disasters.

  • Providing consultancy services based on research findings.

Dr S. M. Amin Hosseini

S. M. Amin Hosseini earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Architectural Engineering (IAU) and his PhD in Construction from the Civil Engineering and Environment Department (UPC). His main research interest is the synergy of resilience and sustainability in built environments under the pressures of urbanization and climate change. Since his postdoctoral position at UPC, he has worked as a researcher on several projects related to sustainable pre- and post-disaster housing management.
